NJ Plan Earns Commendable NCQA Accreditation

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Wednesday, November 21, 2012) – Amerigroup Corporation announced the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has awarded accreditation status of “Commendable” to its New Jersey health plan, Amerigroup Community Care of New Jersey.

“We are honored to receive this accreditation status from the NCQA,” said John Koehn, chief executive officer, Amerigroup New Jersey. “We place a strong focus on quality improvement and state budget savings and are proud our efforts are improving the health care landscape in New Jersey.”

Amerigroup New Jersey encourages members to take control of their care and stresses the importance of support from case managers and care coordination with providers to ensure needed services and supports are arranged and available.

According to NCQA guidelines, “Commendable” accreditation is awarded to organizations with well-established programs for service and clinical quality that meet rigorous requirements for consumer protection and quality improvement.
